The new 4-H year has started! Don’t forget to write down your community
service, volunteer leadership and other activities on a calendar to help
organize your books. The state and county record pages are available on the
Texas 4-H website.
We will be hosting a Record Book Workshop October 15th
at the Extension Office starting at 6:30 pm
The new swine 4-H club leader, Jay Witt and his family, showed the public at TSC in Terrell all about their 4-H project. Joining them at the store front was Caden and Austin's show gilt and a 6 week old baby pig named "baby".
Good job Witt Family for a great day spreading the word about 4-H!
The Crandall 4-H Club had an awesome meeting last night doing team building activities and making goodie bags full of trail mix and decorated cups to take to the schools and the administration staff. Each member also wrote a postcard to a friend who is not in 4-H encouraging them to join our wonderful program. The tallest free standing tower of marshmallows and speghetti noodles measured 22 inches tall!!! The club meets every 2nd Tuesday at 7pm in the Crandall-Combine Community Center. If you have any questions please contact Jennifer Hiser at (214) 793-5332

Do you have a special talent like singing, dancing, playing a musical instrument or acting? Then the Share-The-Fun contest may be just for you! A NEW acting category has been added this year called DRAMEDY! Here is the category description: A dramedy (also known as a comedy-drama or comedic drama) is an act that combines elements of comedy and drama, having both humorous and sometimes serious content. Acts cannot incorporate 4-H related material or theme. (Otherwise, it would be categorized as Celebrate 4-H.) Skits can be currently available scripts, original material, or a combination of the two. Humor and creativity are encouraged, but the degradation of any individual or organization is not permitted. May incorporate music, vocal selections, and/or choreographed routines, but these aspects cannot be more than half of the performance. The other six categories remain the same: Celebrate 4-H, Choreographed Routines, Poetry/Prose, Musical/Instrumental, Solo/Band Performance, and Vocal. Check out the Roundup page on the Texas 4-H website at http://texas4-h.tamu.edu/roundup to find the full listing of state rules. Check with your County Extension Agent and/or District 4-H Specialist for any county or district specific guidelines. Good luck!
