Parket County Jackpot Show

 

This is a jackpot show open to all and proceeds have been designated to benefit Parker County 4-H.  Please share with your families.  For the rule book please contact the Kaufman County 4-H Office and we will send it to you. 

The livestock judges are as follows:

• Lamb/Goat - Chad Coburn
• Beef - Michael Schertz
• Swine - Blake Edwards
• Breeding Rabbits - Sarah Griffin

Teens Take on Health Video Challenge

Youth between the ages of 13 and 19 are invited to participate in the Teens Take on Health Video Challenge!  The 90-second video should show a plan on how to tackle health challenges in one's family, school or community.

Videos must be submitted by May 3 to be eligible. Voting on the top 5 videos will be open to the public May 3 thru May 17. The winner will be announced May 17th!

Entrants have a chance to win a grand prize of $1,000, be featured in a national video, and win $2,500 for a youth program or classroom. Each of the top 5 finalists win $500.

Upcoming Livestock Camp - May 3-5

Attention Livestock Community! 

One of most frequent questions we get is: where to go for quality hands-on training and education. Well then, here you go. On May 3-5 at the Brazos County Expo Center in Bryan is the annual TJLA Camp and Show. 

For years now the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service has joined forces with the TJLA to provide comprehensive education to families thirsty for expert knowledge and livestock project management techniques. 

This event has everything you need to improve your chances for success. Interested in species specific education? Check. 

What about a dynamic leadership workshop? Check. 

Do you want your student to get in the ring and learn? Check. 

Maybe your true passion is livestock judging? Got you covered. 

You might be interested in visiting with the leadership of the major livestock shows and Texas A&M University? They will be there.
