Entry deadlines for Kaufman County 4-H’ers are ALWAYS earlier than posted deadlines. Late entries after the posted deadline will incur a $50 per exhibitor late fee.
2024-2025 TEXAS MAJOR LIVESTOCK SHOWS
This will include a multitude of contests and events unrelated to owning livestock. Everybody planning to participate at any of the Spring Major Shows, livestock or non-livestock events, MUST submit an entry on this day.
When entering shows pay CLOSE ATTENTION to MY DEADLINE ASSIGNED!!! Most all show require information to be uploaded online by me. For Jackie and I to make sure the books balance I need your entries ON TIME!!
***Quality Counts must be completed/updated if participating at State Fair of Texas and any spring major **
What to Bring – 2024-Exhibitor-Summary-Sheet which includes the following information.
*4-H Member – *4-H Member’s SS Number *Valid Quality Counts Number *Method of Payment (cash or check)
*Copy of Heifer registration papers – *Copy of Pure bred gilt papers
DO NOT forget form of payment – Checks made to 4-H Council Fund.
One check per family per show. NO CHECKS FOR MULTI SHOWS.
Entries are not complete if payment is not received.
CONTEST – Entry Date will be November TBA, 2024 by 5:00. Please mark this date on your calendar if you want to compete at Spring Major Spring Shows.

SPRING MAJOR SHOW CALF SCRAMBLE
If you would like to participate in a calf scramble at one of the major livestock shows this Spring, please complete and submit the Major Show Calf Scramble Application.
Application DUE to the 4-H Office by September 6, 2024.
This application will allow me to contact interested parties when the registration forms for each of the shows become available.

- Each Specie has a separate entry information page. Go to https://ntfair.com/events/livestock-shows/ see how to enter each show. This show entry process can be done on your own but a copy need to come to the office to get approval for school letter.

Junior Heifers, Steers = your CEA/AST must enter online. Please complete the appropriate Entry Worksheet and turn it into your CEA/AST so they may enter your project

- • Grounds Passes are NOT required for Weekend 1 exhibitors (August 28 – September 2). Grounds Passes will be mailed to the address on file for each exhibitor entered in any show for Weekend 2 and/or Weekend 3.
• A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI/Health Certificate) is required for all animals EXCEPT: Junior Market Steers, Open Breeding Sheep, and Youth Swine. All poultry are required to have a current Pullorum-Typhoid test and the only accepted birds will be TEXAS poultry.
• The cap for the Junior Market Steer Show is 720 entries. Please enter your steers with priority and gusto.

EAST TEXAS STATE FAIR – SEPTEMBER 20-29, 2024 – Deadline to have entries to Office August 1st at the Extension Office
The Henderson County Fair Complex does not allow any outside shavings or pellets. All pellets must be bought at the show and are $8.00 per bag.
RV spaces are available on the grounds. There are 42 – 50 amp spaces, 62 – 30 amp spaces and are $40.00 per night. Please contact Henderson County Fair Complex 903-670-3324 about a week before the show to reserve a spot.
Lambs and goats will be allowed and preferred to be shown off of trailer. Minimum pens available.
IMPORTANT: NO POP UP TENTS ALLOWED ON THE GROUNDS!
NO health papers are required on any animals.
NO pop up tents allowed on grounds.
NO outside shavings or pellets

This summer in June is the Validation for the fall shows (State Fair and Heart O Texas) for Goats, Sheep, and Heifers and for the 2024-2025 Major Steer shows, we will be hosting those validations on the dates below. These are the only dates the committee has due to my June camp schedule.

It's your last
chance to sign up for the second Teen Ambassador Training! This training is for
youth to understand their role as a camp ambassador, create camp themes and
activities, earn volunteer hours, and participate in team building activities.
