Important Reminders

DISPLAYS: Displays/exhibits will only be permitted when space is available. All facets of a display/exhibit must remain in assigned space and out of pedestrian aisles. All curtains, drapes, decorations, merchandise, or material must be Non-Combustible or Flame Proof. City of Dallas Fire Marshalls will inspect exhibits and ask you to remove any materials that they believe is a fire hazard. Nothing may cover the gate or over the pen. No lights of any kind are to be strung on the pens. Refuse matter must be disposed of as follows: Manure and/or bedding into designated dumpsters; trash into trash barrels. Exhibitors may be granted access to the livestock barns 24 hours per day.

For cattle displays, front panels may be covered, but there will be no panels or covering behind or beside the cattle. Covers including tarps over panels that are placed on the sides of cattle and behind cattle are strictly prohibited. Enclosing the stall area is also strictly prohibited.

Promotional displays of any kind outside of the exhibitor stall area is strictly prohibited – including flyers, sale promotional materials, etc.

BEDDING: Only cattle stalls will be pre-bed upon arrival. In an effort to manage unloading times, no outside bedding (including but not limited to bagged or baled wood shavings or chips, cedar fiber and small square baled straw) will be permitted on the fairgrounds. Equivalents will be available from the State Fair Feed Store. In any event that outside bedding is used, the exhibitor(s) will be required to remove it immediately and are subject to fees. Use of straw is restricted to tie-outs only, with the exception of fine wool breeding sheep and dairy cattle usage.

STEER EAR TAGS: Steers must have a Texas State Validation ear tag. Only validation tags will be allowed. All other tags must be removed prior to arrival. RE-TAG: If an animal is missing the Texas State Validation ear tag upon arrival, it is the exhibitor’s responsibility to take the animal to the designated location on check-in day for retag. Any ear tags damaged post check-in deadline must be reported to a State Fair or validation official WITH the damaged tag to purchase a replacement tag. This also includes prospect steers.
