Jacob Long, representative of Kaufman County, competed and won
the District 4 Texas Farm Bureau Speech Contest that was held in Celina, TX. Jacob spoke on the free enterprise system and how it relates to our economy and system of government. Speeches were judged on organization, language, voice, use of notes, eye contact, and overall persuasiveness.
As the winner, Jacob received a $1,000 scholarship and will compete in the Texas Farm Bureau State Contest to be held in Waco on Dec. 1. Pictured with Jacob is Charles Ray Huddleston the Farm Bureau State Director for District 4.
Winners at the state level will receive additional scholarship monies and an all-expense paid trip to Washington, D.C.
