The State
Fair of Texas provides an annual opportunity to showcase the state’s livestock
industry. The hundreds of thousands of visitors who attend the show during its
24-day run include people from nations outside of the United States. Attracting
approximately 3,500 4-H and FFA students from across the state of Texas who
will exhibit over 4,000 animals for two separate purposes: breeding and
marketing.
Results for the Youth Maine Anjou Beef Heifer show starting with the Overall Grand Champion
Winner Hailey Hawes of Crandall, TX.
Also showing in the Youth Maine Anjou Show was Emily Jenkins of Crandall
winning 1st with her junior calf heifer and Cassidy Urive also of
Crandall placing 2nd with her junior calf heifer.
From the Junior Angus Heifer Show Micah Stahlman received
the Junior Calf Division Champion for her January Junior Calf Heifer and
Reserve Champion with her February Junior Calf Heifer, Clarissa Perez of Forney
was the Intermediate Heifer Calf Champion, Brooke Adams had the Junior Heifer
Division Champion with her April Junior Yearling Heifer. Also showing Junior Angus Heifers for Kaufman County 4-H was Jacob Long of
Forney placing 3rd with his Junior Calf Heifer.
During the Junior Shorthorn Heifer Show Ben Gosnell of Terrell placed 2nd
with his March Heifer calf, Cami Cunningham of Kaufman placed 2nd with
her February Heifer Calf and Gauge Cunningham of Kaufman placed 2nd
with his Early Spring Yearling Heifer.
The Rebekah Jo Gosnell was Reserve Champion Intermediate Division Junior Limousin Heifer
with her Late Summer Yearling Heifer, 1st with her Winter Heifer
Calf and 2nd with her Junior Yearling Heifer. Shelby Wheeler of Wills Point was 4th
with her Winter Heifer Calf.
Finishing out the show was Morgan Nugent winning the
Division Champion Junior Heifer Division for the Simmental Show. Michael Hawes
with his ORB Heifer placing 8th in the Junior Heifer Class. Destiny Harrison was third in the Beefmaster
Late Yearling Heifer Class.
