Close your eyes and imagine a GREAT BIG SLING SHOT and a stuffed duck!!! That is just one of the fun activities we get to help with at the Retriever Dog Trials!!!
We need your help! Each year, the Kaufman County 4-H hosts fundraisers to help with the costs of supporting our youth. For the 2020-2021, 4-H Year they are hosting Fundraisers to help with the developing opportunities and the participation for the members.
We need our 4-H members to participate in each fundraiser. We utilize the funds raised for the total Kaufman County
4-H program…. which includes you! Just what does the council help fund ???
– Awards for county competitions
- Membership awards for those
completing record books.
– Competition sponsorship for district and state contests, camps and more!!
Assisting with the county council fundraiser brings lots of fun
opportunities to the 4-H members in the county. We
are also able to help offset the costs of many events, camps, educational
supplies, workshops, contests, and leadership activities through these funds.
They just hosted the popcorn sales for the clubs and the livestock club raised
almost $400 for their own club!!
Next Fundraising opportunity in March 6-7. They are looking for about 20 humans each day
to help with a sporting dog competition!!
Requirements are you must be 12 years or older (adults are needed!), wear
dark clothing, must be able to place a “fetch item” in a HUGE sling shot and
release on command. Please call the
extension office if you have time to help with this totally great opportunity!!
They start each day of the Retriever Dog Trials at 7:30 am so we need to be
there at 7:15 am. This is an important
fundraiser as the 2020 fundraising could not happen. Let’s not let opportunities be lost to our
kids participating in camps, contest, and membership scholarships. Grab a friend and come help out.
If you have
questions, please do not hesitate to call the Extension Office, and visit with
Carrie Sharp about the fundraising activities. To sign up to help please email
Carrie or fill out the simple google form.
