Club Communications


District Event Deadline Dates
District IV Livestock Judging entry deadline is March 11th on 4-H Connect.  The D4 Livestock Judging will be held on April 2nd at the Kaufman County Junior Livestock Show.

District IV Horse Judging entry deadline is March 18th on 4-H Connect.  The D4 Horse judging will be held on April 8th at the Hopkins County Civic Center.

District IV 4-H Roundup entry deadline is on 4H Connect by April 8th. With the event being held in TAMU Commerce on April 30th.


County Event Deadline Dates
County Roundup for Illustrated Talks and Share the Fun sign up deadline is March 4th.  County Roundup will be held on March 12th.

County Fair Creative Talent Entry deadline is March 11th.  This is the entry form not the entry itself.  Entry forms are on the county website.
Clip Day
There will be a clip day at the fair grounds on Sunday, March 27 from 2-4 pm.  Everyone that shows up will get the first goat or lamb done, if they have multiple project then we will go to the rest.  This gives everyone a chance to get at least one animal done on clip day.  To help the 4-H Youth Council with the maintenance of the clippers they are asking for $5.00 per animal. 

Scurry-Rosser 4-H Club
Our meeting is March 8th,  at 6:30 pm and remember to bring Aluminum cans so that we can take them to recycle.

Ruminants Unlimited Club – Monday, 28th
February meeting is Monday the 28th at the fairgrounds, bring your projects.  We will be weighing animals and have several guest who can give advice and explain where we are headed. At this time you may also spend some time in the ring working on showmanship.

During the meeting we will also be seeking out the creative members and parents so we can decorate our stalls at the fair this is a big deal and we are known for our creative talents. Think of some ideas and see you Monday
Lone Star Goat Club – Monday, 28th
Will be meeting with Ruminants Unlimited and taking part in the goat & lamb preparations for the county show at the fairgrounds.  

Silver Spurs 4-H Horse Club
Silver Spurs 4-H Horse club will be meeting on April 10th for their first meeting of the year.  This year is going to be an exciting one.  In addition, they will be hosting a horse show again this year on May 21st, at the Rafter J Cowboy Church.  Flyer for the show is on the County Website.

Dog Project soon to start
I am so excited on announce that 4-H Leader/Parent Stephanie Bazik has the koodo cookie for the month!!! She have found a dog trainer  to work with the 4-H kids to show their dogs and also a facility. Dr. Sanders at Pet Country Spa has agreed to let the kids come once a week and train at his facility. More than likely it will be on Wednesdays at 630pm.  If you are interested in participating with the dog project I need to know to get a list started.  Thank You Stephanie!!!!
