Educational Presentations are divided up into subject matter divisions.  They are listed in the Texas 4-H Roundup Guide on the State 4-H Website – http:// texas4-h.tamu.edu/library/files/2011 Rules and Guidelines UPDATED_1-20-11.pdf

4-H members have been learning to speak skillfully before an audience for more than 100 years. It is often one of the things people say they most remember about their 4-H experiences — before participating in 4-H, they could not speak comfortably in front of an audience. Thousands of youth have learned, through 4-H, the skills necessary to clearly organize and present ideas and instructions through project talks, demonstrations, illustrated talks and public speaking.  I know that your young one will have fun once they TRY IT.  It is kinda like making them taste veggies, more than often they like it….after they try it.  : )

4-H Recipe Rally
The Texas 4-H & Youth Development Program and the 4-H Healthy Lifestyles Advisory Board are pleased to offer intermediate and senior age 4-H members the opportunity to participate in the 4-H Recipe Rally. 4-H members are challenged with creating a recipe and submitting a video, via YouTube, of them demonstrating the preparation of the recipe.  The deadline to submit a video entry is March 31st!

2011 State Fair of Texas Validations – Lamb, Goat, & Swine Tags
It’s time to be thinking about the State Fair and ordering tags for your lamb, goat, and swine livestock projects in April. So watch your newsletter for more information.

State Steer Tags
Time is fast approaching for each of you to make decisions on how many ear tags will be needed for the 2011 State Steer Validation Program.  This is for any 4-H member who is thinking about showing in any of the Major junior shows (ie. Ft. Worth, San Antonio, San Angelo, Houston, etc.) If you need assistance in finding a steer call the Extension office and we will help you get in contact with the right contact for the breed you wish to show.
